Location

Scarborough is a pretty east coast seaside resort with two sandy bays, a historic castle, harbour, shopping, golf, theatres, cinemas, an outdoor theatre and a sea life centre.

​

Lynwood Convalescent Home is situated in the North Bay area of Scarborough, close to Peasholm Park and is within walking distance of both the town centre and the beach.

​

As well as being within easy reach of the facilities that Scarborough provides, entertainment at the home includes:-

• Disabled bedroom facilities

• Bed linen provided (however, please take your own toiletries and towels)

• Scooter housing and recharging facilities

Lynwood accommodates up to 38 guests in single, double and twin-bedded rooms in first and second floor rooms.  There is no ground floor accommodation however the lift serves both floors.  Most bedrooms benefit from wet room facilities and grab rails.

​

The Home also has a purpose-built disabled bedroom facility and one other adapted room.

​

It is the policy of YMWCH that there are no TV's, internet access or drink-making facilities in guest rooms.  There is a tea/coffee machine on the ground floor.

​

Soap, towels, hairdryers and other toiletries are NOT provided, could you please therefore ensure you bring your own.

​

In the event of accident or illness requiring hospitalisation, neither the charity, the trustees, nor its officers will be responsible for any expenses incurred by relatives or visiting guests, nor for guests' transport home other than on the transport provided.  Whilst every precaution will be taken for the safety and well-being of guests, no responsibility can be taken either by the charity, the trustees, or its staff for any loss of luggage, possessions or accident/illness howsoever these may occur.

Guests are advised not to bring valuables to the home. There are no facilities for at the home for safekeeping. The charity, trustees and staff cannot accept any responsibility for the loss of valuables including cash.  Guests are therefore recommended to take out their own holiday insurance cover if they so wish as this is NOT included or provided.

Please note that the home is a smoke-free area due to national legislation which came into effect in July 2007.
